Highlights of the past two weeks

Hello!

Sorry it's been a while since I last posted anything on here (whoops). At first I didn't feel like anything that exciting had happened, or at least anything that would be interesting enough for a blog post, but it turns out that actually lots has happened since. So here's a briefing of what I've been up to...

Week 30 was my first actual school week and I'm glad to inform you all that I am alive and well. Seriously though, school here is as fun as school can be. My classes are also really nice and different from what they are back home. After school we've been going either to one of the many beaches or to Pacific Fair, which is a huge shopping centre just to hang around (not everyday though ;)).

Btw here's my attempt at taking photos of the blood moon in the early hours of Saturday without.a.tripod... ugh. You could say I was gutted having to photograph the longest lunar eclipse of the 21st century without a tripod... but oh well I tried, and in the end I guess some of the shots turned out to be pretty cool because of the blur (and fyi, yes I did wake up at 5am to see it).

On that Saturday we (me, my host-sister and three other internationals) went to Harbour Town where all of the outlets are, and walked round the area for the day (I didn't end up buying anything else than a notebook though). On Sunday morning I had my first surfing lesson which was very very exciting. We went to Currumbin beach early in the morning and had a 90-minute lesson. I really enjoyed it and had lots of fun learning. Afterwards we decided to stay on the beach for a while and later had lunch at a nearby cafe.

The next week (31) was also super fun. On Wednesday I jumped in the pool for the first time in over a month, on Thursday all the new internationals had an excursion to Bond University, and it was actually pretty interesting to see all the premises. In the evening we had a pizza night and on Friday was the annual sports carnival at school. On the weekend we were on the beach and I also had my second surfing lesson on Sunday which went well.

Those were my highlights of the past couple of weeks! How about yours?

xx
