School Trip to Tangalooma

Hi! I know it's been a long long time, but here's a recap from a school trip in February-March that I never wrote about, so finally here it is, our Tangalooma adventures!

Wednesday 27/02

Wednesday morning were met at the school bus bay, where everyone was packed and ready for our upcoming three-day trip. Basically our school's international department had arranged a trip to Tangalooma for our exchange students. We got on the bus and drove for about an hour up to Brisbane, stopped for coffee and continued to the ferry terminal. We took a ferry to Tangalooma, Moreton Island. The journey was about an hour and a half long. When we arrived at the resort we got our room keys, I was in a room with Sara, Chiara and Emily. After we had had lunch, we went for a bush walk with a guide who told us about the island, and its animals etc. Then our next activity was a sand dune safari. We drove through the bush to the dunes, and walked all the way up and everyone rolled and/or ran down at the same time. We took some cool pictures and rolled around in the sand some more before it was time to go back to the resort to have dinner.

After dinner it was time for dolphin feeding. First we learned about the resort's dolphins and the rescue work that the resort does. After the presentation we went down to the beach and formed a line behind the bucket of fish and then walked to the dolphins in pairs and fed them. We got to feed a mother with a little calf. The dolphins were super cute and it was such a cool experience! For our first day in Tangalooma we definitely did a lot of things, but I really enjoyed it!

Thursday 28/02

On Thursday after breakfast we went SUPing for an hour or so. Afterwards we had a little bit of free time before lunch. Then our next activity was snorkelling at the shipwrecks. It was a different kind of place to snorkel and pretty cool too! On the way back, we also saw more dolphins from the boat. After snorkelling we had more free time and decided to play volleyball all together which was fun. Then we had dinner and saw the most beautiful sunset.

After dinner there weren't any activities, so we just chilled before going to bed.

Friday 01/03

In the morning, after breakfast we checked out of our rooms and had a safari tour of the island. We drove around, through the bush, on different beaches and more sand dunes (and again, we climbed the sand dunes and rolled down haha). On the safari I saw a small ray, starfish and and a stonefish too. After our little trip we arrived back in the resort and just chilled while waiting for our ferry since it was time to go back home.

We got on the ferry, off the ferry, on the bus and finally we arrived at the school at about half past six. It was a really nice trip, and it was so fun to get to travel a little bit with all of my friends. There was lots to do and to see, but we also had enough free time which was nice. And I think that three days was also a good amount of time to spend on the island. Overall a very successful trip and we all had so much fun!

ps. I also made a video edit of the trip so I'll put the link here if you want to have a look.

More adventure updates coming soon! ;)
